A lavish jewel in the crown of one of the greatest gardens in the world, Flowing Water tells the majestic story of the revitalization of Longwood Gardens’ Main Fountain Garden.
One hundred and eleven years after founder Pierre S. du Pont created Longwood Gardens, the property began a massive, multi-years, $93 million renovation of the Main Fountain Garden. The film goes behind the scenes of the revitalization process, and follows the journeys of modern-day visionaries – architects, fountain designers and preservationists – and retraces du Pont’s inspirational trips to the great gardens of Europe.
From aerial shots over Chateau de Vaux-le-Vicomte in France, to designers in New York and LA, to a rock splitting quarry in Pennsylvania, the film takes viewers around the world and artfully displays the countless details involved in reimagining the Main Fountain Garden.
